This course is aimed to
- enable learners to identify the speech organs and understand the operation of the speech production mechanism.

learners understand the segmental aspects of English and apply the
principles of the description and classification of speech sounds to
English consonants and vowels.
- help learners understand the suprasegmental aspects of English and apply these aspects to the pronunciation of English words, phrases, and sentences.
