This course aims to equip students with exposure to sight and consecutive interpreting tasks through which they can apply linguistic and cultural knowledge for handling interpretation assignments and practicing interpretive skills from fundamental to intermediate levels of difficulty in content, accent, speed, length of speech. The course helps consolidate and extend student repertoire of interpretation in terms of content knowledge, topic-based vocabulary and structures. The course also facilitates students in tasks of news writing, editing and presenting, and provide students with experience that fosters their independent and collaborative learning through individual, pair and group work activities.
