Course Description: The course is designed to introduce students to the use of computers in language teaching and learning. This will include both theoretical and practical features, based on the CALL literature and on current pedagogical approaches to language learning.
Course Introduction: The use of computer and information technology for the teaching and learning of languages is now well established. In order for this technology to be applied effectively teachers themselves must have a substantial understanding of the nature and operation of this technology within their professional frameworks. Students who intend to pursue higher degrees in applied linguistics or TESOL, or those who intend to take up language teaching, will find this course practical and useful.
